{"id":3183,"date":"2020-02-13T06:56:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-13T06:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/asturmadidoors.visualit.com.es\/fire-door-maintenance-instructions\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T11:12:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T11:12:12","slug":"instructions-for-maintenance-of-fire-rated-doors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/asturmadidoors.visualit.com.es\/en\/blog\/instructions-for-maintenance-of-fire-rated-doors\/","title":{"rendered":"Instructions for maintenance of fire-rated doors"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The following details the operation and maintenance procedures that must be performed on the installed doors and access panels:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Check to make sure there are no objects preventing the door from opening properly (padlocks, padlock holders, etc.) or obstructing the movement of the door panels as they open (hooks, wedges, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inspect the sash\/frame assembly to check for mechanical damage that could prevent it from opening properly (warping, misalignment, scratches, cracks, dents, corrosion, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check that the hinges are secure and lubricate their pins.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the clearances and adjust them, if necessary, within the tolerances.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the release force of the opening devices to ensure they are functioning properly and do not impede evacuation. Lubricate their moving parts. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check that the door&#8217;s closing force is sufficient to ensure that it closes completely.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If there is one, check and adjust the controlled closing mechanism or door closer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For double-leaf doors, check that the locking mechanism on the passive leaf is working properly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For double-leaf doors, check the closing coordination mechanism and adjust it if necessary.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check the intumescent seals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Inspect the glass fasteners and joints, as well as any breaks, cracks, or general defects the glass may have.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check that the anti-pry bolt is in good condition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Make sure the door&#8217;s nameplate is clearly visible.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If there is one, check the electromagnetic retention device.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">See the installation instructions at<br\/>.
