Identification of a Metal Fire Door
All metal fire doors have a label on one side of the door that lists each door’s specifications, such as fire resistance, dimensions, etc. Asturmadi Doors marks all its metal fire doors with a laser-etched label featuring a QR code, making it easy for all its customers to identify each door. The QR code enables complete traceability of every door manufactured, making it easy for our customers to replace a door, even years after it was manufactured.
Meaning of EI2 and C-5
How a fire door is identified, what its markings mean, and how they are labeled. As we mentioned earlier, all fire doors must be identified with labels in order to be recognized as such, and these labels provide a complete description of their characteristics. For example, EI2 60MN.“E” refers to integrity—the door’s ability to withstand the effects of fire on both sides;“I” refers toinsulation —the door’s ability to withstand exposure to fire on both sides; “60MN” refers to the fire resistance rating.“C-5” is a durability certificate for the self-closing mechanism, certifying 200,000 cycles.
