It is recommended to perform maintenance every six months, or every month if the door is used frequently. The manufacturer will provide a guide outlining recommended points to consider when inspecting the door. The Technical Building Code also includes basic guidelines in its document DB-SI No. 3, “Maintenance of Pedestrian Doors with Fire Protection Functions.”
The property owner is responsible for establishing an appropriate inspection and maintenance schedule.
