Fire-rated peepholes are installed in fire doors to provide visibility through the door and prevent accidents when the door is opened.
The fire-rated porthole is easy to install on-site. To do so, our technical staff recommends following these simple steps:
To install a circular peephole
> Draw the circle to be cut, centered on the width of the door.
> Using a 6-mm drill bit, drill a hole along the edge of the marked line to guide the jigsaw. Once cut out, pull the cut-out piece away from the blade in one smooth motion.
> Place 4 staples in the hole as shown in the sketch.
> Place the ring on the blade. Mark the mounting holes for the ring and drill them. Then rivet the ring to the blade.
> Turn the sheet over. Place the ceramic gasket around the glass, folding the excess over the glass.
> Insert the glass into the hole in the blade.
> Place the second ring on the blade. Mark the mounting holes for it and drill them. Rivet the ring to the blade.
