A 20-minute fire door provides 20 minutes of fire resistance in the event of a fire. This type of door is known as EI2-20, and it is very useful in locations where fire protection is optional.
Fire-rated doors typically also provide fire insulation for a few minutes. Our Asturmadi Multipurpose Fire-Rated Door E30, for example, is also a 20-minute fire-rated door. This means it provides fire protection for 20 minutes and maintains its structural integrity for 30 minutes (it would not open or break before the stipulated 30 minutes).
