What is the Technical Building Code?
On the official CTE website, the Technical Building Code (CTE) is described as “the regulatory framework that establishes the requirements that buildings must meet with regard to the basic safety and habitability requirements set forth in Law 38/1999 of November 5, on Building Regulations (LOE).”
The basic quality requirements that buildings must meet relate to safety and livability.
The CTE also addresses accessibility in accordance with Law 51/2003 of December 2, on equal opportunity, non-discrimination, and universal accessibility for people with disabilities (LIONDAU).»
